I have (big) news for you …

I have been considering leaving New York for quite some time ... almost 10 years. I cannot live the way I would like to live ... with a garden, a dog that runs in the garden, a house with space, etc. As most of you know, I’m originally a northern California girl, and that just doesn’t leave your system.

After much thought and numerous visits, I decided to relocate to Atlanta where I have a community of friends. That was 2 weeks ago.

It was an agonizing decision and a roller coaster of emotion as you can imagine, all happening during an insanely busy and wildly inspiring year. I figure I’m in the last lap of my life, and I might as well make it as great as the all the other laps, so here goes!

Of course I will continue designing ... cakes, fashion, interiors. I still have access to the same amazing New York professional kitchen, and I imagine I will be visiting you often.

I needed to take an Insta break (it was all too much with packing my business, my home, etc,) so thank you for indulging me. I’m going to chronicle my adventures here and look forward to your comments. I’m starting with a picture of me on the plane with my cat, Lola.

So happy to be reconnected with you ...

A day late … it took me forever to find this photograph of my Dad, Jacques, when he was in Paris in the 40s working for the .
A complicated man, he was a dashing man, a gifted artist, and not least … a Holocaust survivor. A lot. He gave me so much. ♥️

L’amour … l’amour … he is French 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷and she is American 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸and we created their wedding cake last week, celebrating it all!!

This year’s wedding cakes are less about size, and more about meaning and intimacy … a cake no one else has. It’s all for you!

It’s taken me a week 🤪 to pull some of my favorites from the 2024 Tony Nominations party given by Anna Wintour and .

1. Doubt: I wanted to capture the vine-covered stone wall surrounding the church. I’m crazy about the stainless glass window too! All sugar. All edible.

2. Illinoise: they make a “campfire” out of lanterns …

3. Appropriate: the tree that grows through the house. This one was quite challenging 😝

4. Stereophonic: the bag of “cocaine” gets me every time! made the bag from one of her edible finds in Japan!

5. The Notebook: I’m crazzzzzzy about the raindrops!

In case you were wondering where we go for the month of May … we burrow while preparing for Anna Wintour’s and annual Tony Nominations fête!!

Thursday night celebrated her birthday with our first sculpted Chinese Lantern cake!
We needed an engineering degree to make it look suspended, and Johanna came to the rescue!🙏🏻
