Un concerto speciale per celebrare il gemellaggio tra Torino e Glasgow. 🎶
Protagonisti anche i giovani musicisti del Quartetto Raimund, allievi Xenia, insieme alla violista Sarah Hanniffy e a alla cornamusa scozzese, in un programma che ha unito la musica di Haydn alla tradizione musicale scozzese.

Bellissimo anche il lavoro di trascrizione e arrangiamento di Manuel Zigante.

Un incontro tra musica da camera, tradizioni e due città unite da una lunga amicizia.

Grazie all’Ufficio Relazioni Internazionali della Città di Torino e al Conservatorio di Torino per aver reso possibile questa occasione.

A special concert celebrating the twinning between Turin and Glasgow. 🎶
Xenia students of the Raimund Quartet, joined by violist Sarah Hanniffy and on Scottish bagpipes, brought together the music of Haydn and traditional Scottish music.

The programme also featured transcriptions and arrangements by Manuel Zigante.

An encounter between chamber music, musical traditions and two cities connected by a long-standing friendship.

Two weeks already since the end of the 29th Xenia Chamber Music Course!

Thank you to all our students for the music, the energy, the friendships and all the wonderful moments we shared in Pràcatinat. 💛

In attesa dell’inizio del 29° Xenia Chamber Music Course, vi aspettiamo per un concerto speciale che celebra i giovani talenti della musica da camera.
Protagonista sarà il Quartetto Teide, formato da studenti del Conservatorio di Torino e vincitore del primo bando promosso dall’Associazione Ensemble Xenia. La prossima settimana il quartetto parteciperà alla masterclass di quartetto d’archi tenuta da Isabel Charisius, storica componente del Quartetto Alban Berg.
In programma due capolavori del repertorio per quartetto d’archi:
🎼 Ludwig van Beethoven – Quartetto op. 18 n. 4
🎼 Camille Saint-Saëns – Quartetto op. 153
Un’occasione per ascoltare da vicino una nuova generazione di musicisti e dare il via, insieme, a una nuova estate di musica con Xenia.

🎻 Before the start of the 29th Xenia Chamber Music Course, join us for a special concert celebrating the next generation of chamber musicians.
The Teide Quartet, formed by students from the Turin Conservatory and winners of the first Ensemble Xenia Chamber Music Award, will perform two masterpieces of the string quartet repertoire. Next week, they will take part in the string quartet masterclass led by Isabel Charisius, former member of the Alban Berg Quartet.

In just a few days, Xenia Chamber Music Course will once again bring Pràcatinat to life with music, collaboration and the energy of talented young string players from across Europe.
This summer, we’re delighted to welcome back Costanza Pepini as a member of our Staff. An acclaimed violist and founding member of the Ascanio Quartet, she joins us as we prepare to welcome a great group of participants.
Everything is almost ready.
See you in the Italian Alps. 🇮🇹🏔️

Tra pochi giorni il Xenia Chamber Music Course tornerà ad animare Pràcatinat con musica, studio, condivisione e l’energia di tanti giovani musicisti provenienti da tutta Europa. 🇮🇹🏔️
Siamo felici di accogliere nuovamente Costanza Pepini nel corpo docente di questa edizione. Violista di grande esperienza e membro fondatore dell’Ascanio Quartet, si unisce al team di Xenia per accompagnare il numeroso gruppo di studenti che parteciperà al corso.
Dal 23 luglio al 2 agosto ci aspettano dieci giorni di musica da camera, crescita artistica e incontri che lasciano il segno.
Ci vediamo tra una settimana!

A day at Xenia
Music runs through the entire day.
Rehearsals and lessons in small ensembles, alongside string orchestra sessions — working closely together and developing the music in depth.
Time is shared between ensemble work, individual practice, and moments of exchange with other musicians.
And in the evening, music continues: concerts, masterclasses, shared moments.
More than a course — an experience of music, connection, and growth.
