St. Mary's Musical Society SMMS, Navan St. Mary's Musical Society (SMMS) performed their first show in 1968. Contact No. 0892618018 Rehearsals are held 2-3 times per week.

Formed in 1968, St Mary's Musical Society, Navan has produced a wide range of musicals, pantomimes and concerts. We have a long association with Amateur Irish Musical Societies (AIMS), which we joined back in 1969, becoming one of the first provisional musical societies to do so. Over the years we have had the honour of winning several awards for our musical productions at the AIMS Awards Ceremony

held in the INEC Killarney. Our Summer Camp, now in it's 6th year, runs for 2 weeks in July for children aged 6 - 12 years old. Each year our Summer Camp ends with a showcase in the Community Centre

All Teens & the kids can be seen in our Summer Cabaret show and/or annual Panto! Year after year we welcome new adult members who can sing, dance or act. From time to time we also invite young people under the age of 18 to join us in our productions. All members are encouraged to be actively involved in whatever way suits. Members have been Directors, Producers, Writers and Choreographers; as well as design sets, run backstage operations, provide Front of House support & oversee costumes. There truly is something for everyone who wants to get involved! If you would like to receive any of our communication emails please let us know!

Such a great time last night as a coach load of SMMS travelled up to see our own Caolán Reilly in the Bord Gais Theater's production of Oklahoma. What a wonderful production and a very proud moment for all of us seeing Caolán in his natural habitat.

Thanks you to everyone who attended our AGM last night. We're looking forward to a great year ahead. A huge thank you to our outgoing committee members Ariann Fox, Jenny Darcy, Joanne Husband and Katie Fitzsimons for all of their hard work over the last year and we welcome in our new committee.

☀️ Summer is Here ☀️

Guys & dolls, as the 2025/2026 year draws to a close we are super excited to kick our summer season into gear! ⭐️😅

In case you missed it we have tonnes of exciting events coming up and so we thought we might remind you what to expect from SMMS, and how you could get involved! 👀

First up will be our Annual General Meeting, taking place in St. Mary’s Community Centre, Navan on Tuesday, June 2nd. Come down for insights and discussions about all things SMMS, elect your new committee, and be the first to hear all about the big plans we have in store for the coming year. 🙌😁

Then on Thursday the 4th of June, we will be hosting open auditions for our highly anticipated Summer Cabaret: Rivals, taking the stage August 21st & 22nd, 2026. Registration for chorus and featured roles is now open and available through the link in our bio! 🔥🤩

Finally, we are once again looking forward to welcoming back all of our young performers as we kick off the annual SMMS Summer Camp in July! ☀️👯‍♀️

🎻 BIG ANNOUNCEMENT 🎻

Ladies & gents, at long last we are delighted to finally announce that our 2027 musical will be the age old, timeless classic, Fiddler On The Roof! 🤩💛

It is also our privilege to announce the return of our glorious 2026 production team who will be at the helm of what promises to be another incredible show. 🙌😍

Fiddler On The Roof will take to the Solstice Arts Centre next spring, April 20th-25th with direction from Emma Thornton, musical direction from Dylan Browne, and Choreography from Katie Duffy. Keep an eye on our social media over the coming months to learn more about this amazing show and how you can get involved! ☺️⭐️
