Event Cancelled! We are sad to report that due to low ticket sales we have no choice but cancel our next event.
We would like to stress that this is by no means a reflection on the venue or the band and merely as a result of choosing the wrong date!
As our regular attendees know, we have experienced a problem with our regular venue and only have two further dates secured in September and December.
In an attempt to find a suitable alternative venue, we were trialling another two locally.
We usually operate on the 3rd Friday of the month but this pattern was altered in an attempt to trail the second venue a month after the first trial so that our club members could take a vote between the two.
The first was a great success but we have subsequently been notified that there is 6 months of renovations next year and therefore we have only been able to secure 2 dates in 2027!
This next event was also a trail venue for us so sad that we have had to cancel.
Our apologies to those who had purchased tickets and refunds will be actioned.
Thank you to all for your continued support and we hope to find stability once we have secured our forever live band home!

Slim Jim & The Wildcards certainly didn’t disappoint! They read the room beautifully as we had quite a mix in the room and delivered 2 awesome sets!
Super talented and loved the interaction between the band members and the dancers!
A truly great night and loved the (trial) venue!
As always, huge thanks to our set up team who never fail to transform a venue and put our stamp on it!
Our DJ,Terence did us proud one again, thank you Tez!
Thank you also goes to all those that attended, it’s very much appreciated and together we are helping keep the scene alive. Here is to many more great nights in the future! X

STATEMENT: Those that regularly attend our live band nights at The Velvet Club will know that we have lost our current venue. We have 2 remaining dates there later in the year but we are having to source an alternative to make our permanent home.
The Velvet Club fronts the live band events for our club, Jive Central. The members have come up with a couple of venue's that we will be trialling in April and May. They will then take a vote to decide which they feel works best for the club and it's attendees.
We will be using popular local bands for this trail who know us and are able to adapt accordingly.
It may be that our club decides to look for a further venue but we won't know until we have completed this exercise and will of course keep you all informed.
The loss of venue has been a hard blow. We had gone above and beyond to ensure that we didn't upset anyone, given that the hall is situated in a residental area but sadly we appear to have failed.
It's troubling times when some many club's are closing down and great loss to live music, not just for the dancers but for the band members too.
As a club we are proud of our Rock 'n' Roll club. Mainly Jive and the sound of the 50's but with the odd modern day spin at times.
We feel we have the balance right and so important to ensure we appeal to people and bring them to the scene and therefore keeping it alive.
We had to release all our band bookings whilst in a time of uncertainty as we didn't want to block their dairies without a secured venue but pleased to say that we have a some dates secured until February 2027 and once the trail dates have established our new venue we can then continue with future dates.
We would like thank all the bands that have been very understanding with our situation, it's been greatly appreciated and huge thanks to our attendees who appreciate live music and what we as a club are doing for the scene!
