Supper time at Garker Fields.
My Shetland sheep have hay every evening to compensate for the lack of grass during the shorter months.
feeding hay on the ground causes a lot of waste but the waste hay gets eaten by the earth worms, adding to the soil microbiology and sequestering carbon.

I've had a few enquiries the last few days for eggs.
Unfortunately, it's the time of year when my girls don't lay as many eggs, and I'm only just keeping up with current demand.
If you want to be added to my customers, and live in the Tregrehan, Trethurgy area, I ask if you can leave a comment on this post, so I can get back to you when supply increases.
Messages get lost in the ether, but I can always refer to this post and get in touch in future.
Thanks.

no man had crumpled a hot clod in his fingers and let the earth sift past his fingertips.
No man had touched the seed, or lusted for the growth.
Men ate what they had not raised, had no connection with the bread.
The land bore under iron, and under iron gradually died.
For it was not loved or hated, had no prayers or curses.

John Steinbeck.

First attempt at a spiral plant obelisk.
About 2 metres high and 15 inches diameter.
It would look lovely in a large teracotta pot covered in sweet peas.
