From the late Noughties to 2013, a small capacity club on the road to San Juan, not far from Bambuddha, was stealing headlines for its scenes of hedonism and close knit crowd. Off the beaten track and only on the radar of those in the know, Aura counted the likes of James Blunt, Cara Delevingne and Charlotte Tilbury as patrons of
its dancefloor. Now ten years after its closure, original club manager Hayden Trethewy, Sunny Ramzan (ex-Pikes) and Vaughan (Pacha's Funky Room) are bringing it back under the guise of Funky Aura Ibiza, a party which has found a new home in the north at Las Dalias and Akasha. "The authenticity of Ibiza has been diluted by the commercial explosion of the last decade. We need to celebrate the people that make this island so different - the creative people, the bohemian people, the unusual, the beautiful, interesting and colourful people." After two outings testing the water, Funky Aura is given the Monday night slot at Akasha for summer. The party starts 5 June and finishes on 28 September.
