Pussycat, pussycat. Ginger shimmied to the Vancouver stage via Adelaide, Australia in 2013. Upon moving to the West Coast, she was enchanted by the power and persuasion of the burlesque community. Ginger — a lifelong student of dance and theatre, and an enthusiastic gyrator — immersed herself in the performance community. 2013 seems so long ago. These days, Ginger bewitches show-goers with her luxuriant burlesque, stunning audiences across Canada and the US as the seventh member of The Lost Girls burlesque group. Back home, she served her Vancouver community as a board member of the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival for two years. With aesthetic nods to vixens past, Ginger’s mercurial performance style brims with irreverence. A true Leo, Ginger’s kiss is as sure as her bite.

Are you ready to meet another fabulous Elemental cast member? Well, Gia Sangria is back for our Vancouver Fringe Festival run! Gia will be bringing back her vocal act that was inspired by water but will also be performing an original song in our fire portion. Get reacquainted with Gia here:

When Gia Sangria discovered the sparkly world of burlesque, it felt like everything her showgirl heart had been waiting for… but far before she ever twirled a tassel, she sang a very different tune. Gia was a chanteuse and a songwriter for over a decade, and her soulful vocals were her signature. She is thrilled to take the stage with the Crystalline Cabaret and to share with you her first love. Gia is a die-hard VBC student and Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society Board Member, as well as co-producer of a new weekly show, Bad Company Burlesque. Recent shows include: Abracadaver Cabaret, Taboo R***es, La Maison Lust, GLAM SLAM, April O'P*el Productions, and Vancouver Burlesque Co. Showcases.

Hello wonderful friends! We're super thrilled to be welcoming Gidget Gravedigger back to Elemental for our Vancouver Fringe Festival run. Gidget will be bringing back her stunning stag number in the earth portion but presenting a new kind of magic for her air act. We can't wait! Read up on her here:

The diva with bluster and a ghostly lustre! Gidget Gravedigger has been performing burlesque for 10 years, she is most known for her love of the macabre and is the co-creator and producer of Vancouver's longest running horror cabaret show Abracadaver Cabaret.

She is also the co-host of 'Comedy of Terrors', a bizarre horror comedy show that is like if P*e Wee’s Playhouse had a baby with Elvira. She has performed at burlesque festivals in Vancouver, New Orleans and at the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas.

It's the weekend!! And what's better than one amazing castmate? One that is actually TWO. We're so happy that Lilac Lust aka Levi Thrust is back for our Vancouver Fringe Festival run of Elemental. Bringing you the sensations of both water and fire, they're sure to dazzle you. Learn more about them here:

Lilac Lust first bloomed in 2015 and shortly after was a featured newcomer at the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival in 2016. She has since performed on stages from Vancouver to Vegas as a member of the Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society. When not in the spotlight, this multi-talented babe can be found calling the shots as a stage manager.

Out from the shadow of his cousin, Lilac Lust, this King of Colour has been showing up on stages since 2017 and breaking hearts since '93. With his smooth moves and velvet voice, a living R&B dream, he is Levi Thrust.

The Crystalline Cabaret's Founder and Creative Director Ava Lure is also returning for Elemental at the Vancouver Fringe Festival! They will be hosting the show with a style you've never seen before. Catch up with Ava here:

While some performers “burst” onto the burlesque scene, Ava Lure’s ascent has resembled more of a high-viscosity ooze of angst and ardour. Performing burlesque since 2010, Ava has graced the stages of House of Hush Burlesque, Wasabassco Burlesque NYC, the Vancouver International Burlesque Festival, Toronto Burlesque Festival, Edmonton Burlesque Festival, Texas Burlesque Festival, Minneapolis Burlesque Festival, and with Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society, The Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender. Ava is currently a member of Pandora and The Locksmiths, an instructor with Screaming Chicken Theatrical Society, and the Creative Director and Founder of The Crystalline Cabaret.

With a strong commitment to incorporating artistic education into her creative practice, Ava has a Diploma in Theatre as well as Alumni Award for Community Service from Douglas College, an Advanced Certificate in Arts & Entertainment Management and Bachelor of Performing Arts from Capilano University, and has studied Viewpoints Movement Improvisation from the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. Ava currently serves on the board of the Vancouver International Burlesque festival and was President in 2015. They also served on the board of the Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards from 2015 - 2018 and was a co-producer of the awards show in 2019.

We want to welcome back the energy force that is Cass Podor! Cass dazzled us in both Dr. Coppelius and he spring edition of Elemental and we can't wait to see her up on stage again. She'll be bringing back her water-inspired silk fan dance but will be serving a new degree of FIRE this time around. Learn more about Cass here:

Cass has been movin’ and shakin’ her way from East Coast to West since 2013. Since arriving from Toronto three years ago, this firecracker’s powerful stage presence has been commanding the attention of Vancouver audiences. Cass’ work is heavy on theatre jazz and urban dance influences - after several years at York University’s Dance program, Cass left to take on intensive cross-training in jazz, hip-hop, house, waacking, contemporary and heels dance. Highlights working in Toronto include showcasing at World of Dance Toronto with The Girls Club Academy and two seasons with street dance crew BOSS Dance Company. With a fiery stage personality and a raw passion for movement, Cass is known for bringing the heat when she moves. She is one of the daughters of House of La Do**he, Vancouver’s premiere LGBTQ2+ street dance family. Notable performance highlights for 2019 have included her debut as a soloist and guest performer with The Crystalline Cabaret, The Ladybirds and La Maison Lust. You can also find Cass shimmying the house down at Go-Go Bungalow at the Shameful Tiki Room, or teaching weekly drop-in classes with Luminesque Dance.

Our next new team member for Elemental: A Hyper-Natural Variety R***e - Vancouver Fringe! is none other than Ariel Helvetica 🎉 Ariel also dazzled in Lunarium, House Nocturnae, and Dr. Coppelius and we're so excited for what she'll be bringing to The Cultch for this show. With acts inspired by fire and water, she's sure to amaze ✨ Learn more about Ariel here:

Ariel Helvetica has shimmied and twirled her way around the globe, having performed at some of the top burlesque shows in Europe, Canada and the U.S.A since her 2011 debut. A born and raised dancer, Ariel spent 5 years abroad, wowing audiences in France as a professional Can-Can/Showgirl, and then criss-crossing the globe and criss-crossing her long legs as a professional high-kicker on cruise ships, visiting 45 countries along the way. With many notable performances under her G-String, her 2018 performance highlight was strip-teasing for her peers and fans at The Burlesque Hall of Fame in the Best Debut category. While touring, Ariel has had the pleasure of teaching hundreds of students and brings her expertise back to her home studio, the Vancouver Burlesque Co. where she is the Assistant Director. Ms.Helvetica is a member of Sweet Soul Burlesque, Western Canada’s longest-running professional neo-burlesque troupe and in 2018 Ariel was voted #25 in 21st Century Burlesque Magazine's “most influential performers” and #3 in Canada.
