6 years ago Angel Music Bar played host to our huge UMAMI X LeFag x V***r Nein collab night, to those who attended IYKYK. This time, we’re taking over the whole venue to give you some of that UMAMI flavour you didn’t know you needed. And in honour of our sister DJ Brigida who tore up the closing set last time, we’re keeping our lineup upstairs trans and proud just for her. Keep fighting the good fight, and we’ll see you all on the dancefloor.

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we hold this event on, and pay respects to its elders, past and present - but also pay respects and offer our love to the First Nations community here, including those who attend the night, sovereignty was never ceded. // First Nations please email in before the night to ensure your free entry: [email protected].

Are you ready to throw down to Miss Manba this Saturday? Because I don’t think you’re ready for the energy that Blck Mamba, Brussels based artist of Nigerian descent, strives to UMAMI through a carefully curated mix of the latest club music, think UK funky, amapiano, afro house, kuduro, baltimore, hard drum and baile funk.

In 2021 she debuted with two tracks on Jamz Supernova’s Future Bounce, followed in 2022 by
the certified club banger ‘Rudeboy Ting’ included on Club Djembe’s latest compilation album. In
2024 she featured on Nathan Elias’ ‘HALLASAN’ track released on Cloud Shaper Records.

Blck Mamba hereby continues to celebrate afro inspired club music as one of the most exciting
sounds. As part of a global wave, Mamba tries to push this vibrant scene through her own music,
radio shows, curations and dj-sets.

Doing so Mamba finds supporting other artists on all her platforms and events essential.
Herself, she looks up to artists to the likes of Jamz Supernova, Kampire, Bambii, Juba, Mina & SanFarafina.

So what are you waiting for? You know the drill - ticket link’s in our bio.

Coming off strong from his huge Strawberry Fields set, we are very honoured to bring Zjoso to the UMAMI stage! An accomplished and versatile DJ, Zjoso explores his love for soulful music across the spectrum. With discerning taste that touches on sounds like Street Soul, Dub Reggae, 90’s House, Broken Beat and Detroit Techno, he is able to navigate both dance floors and radio frequencies with perceptive ability and a sharp skill-set.

West African in heritage, Naarm (Melbourne)-based Zjoso has quickly become an essential thread weaving through the city’s musical tapestry. A love for dancing, a passion rooted within discovering and sharing music and an inherent motivation to bring people together through these forms lay as the foundation for Zjoso’s creative focus. A vibrant voice who is helping define the shape of Australian dance culture.

He is the founder of Tribqu, a platform celebrating underground music and culture, where at the helm, he has successfully carved out a distinct role as a DJ, radio host and curator. His monthly radio programme presented on Skylab has become a cult favourite, whilst
the dance cultivates a space where music is not led by a specific genre rather a feeling and exploration in sound and movement. Tribqu has
energised a community movement of like-minded music lovers.

Zjoso is a talent that cannot be missed, secure your ticket to witness this sensation tear up the floor next Saturday.

Urban Analytics () returns with it’s third instalment patterning with local staple Umami, delving into the depths of global rhythms and dancefloor-driven sounds, celebrating genres like UK funky, amapiano, afrobeats, grime, and baile alongside the soulful sophistication of ’90s House, Broken Beat, and Detroit Techno.

Heavy hitters BLCK MAMBA (BRU) and local staple ZJOSO () will unite the dance floor with playful grooves with rich musicality, sparking movement, connection, and joy through diverse and boundary-pushing sounds.

We cannot ignore the fact that we will be partying into the first few hours of Invasion Day. Awareness and respect towards our indigenous brothers and sisters, especially during the darkest time of so-called Australian history, is sacrosanct as we must each do our part to show solidarity and push for recognition of land rights. Urban Analytics and Umami urges everyone to research into Wurundjeri and Woi Wurrung history to pay respect to the owners of the land of which we party on. Also please incite conversation, attend the Invasion Day rally and donate to an indigenous cause you support. As such to show our support we will be donating portion of our proceeds to Black Rainbow, and posting resources for the Invasion Day rally on our page, look out for all links in our bio.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Trans WOC please email: [email protected] to ensure your free entry.

Stepping up to rare closing duties for this Saturday is the mentally unstable aunty herself, mama Umami . Usually seen opening the night and running around with oysters, she’ll be doing the same but in reverse. Don’t prepare for anything as you know her sets are unpredictable with a hint of 😝. In her words, “No bio, bc cbf.” 🤷‍♀️

Unrestricted by genre or BPM, Brown Suga Princess (Ria) uses their sets as a way to express their love for sexy, smooth and moody music while exploring their reconnection to their South Asian culture. After playing sweaty, memorable sets at Dutty and Strictly Tracks, Ria spent the last year away from so-called Australia connecting to community by living, working and learning in both Fiji and India. They continue to dive into the intersections of culture, music and community through their involvement in South Asian creative collective Kerfew. With a return to Narrm, Ria will be bringing their signature big, b***y, bassy energy, weaving across multiple genres to build the heat. Be prepared for the unexpected as Ria’s focus on curating energy in a space can find them deep in anything from footwork to reggaeton.

UMAMI this week! I hope you’re just as excited as we are to announce Aotearoan legend 🧨

Birthed through the ever-changing ecosystem of ballroom, ATARANGI draws heavy influence from the q***r underground scene in Aotearoa by way of New York City to inform a sound touched by many, perfected by few. They possess an unparalleled sonic knowledge that transcends multiple, eclectic genres. They bend the fabric from which sonic connection is formed; melting sounds from techno to jersey club, ballroom, and fast-paced, percussive hard drum in perfect, chaotic harmony. Hailed as a master of emergence, their high-energy, reactive, never-the-same sets have made them nothing short of a mainstay in the club circuit nationwide.

They also help run the iconic Tāmaki Makaurau based q***r club night NY**HO - dedicating their collective practice around the notions of sexual liberation and gender euphoria.
