We're excited to have Denise Boyland on this project as our second singer, playing various parts including a media journalist and a friend of Julia. Here's her Bio:
Denise was brought up by a musical father who was a ballroom dance teacher and a brass bandsman. She feels blessed to have inherited the gift of harmony which led her to sing Baritone with an A' Ca****la chorus for 14 years. Denise became a vocal skills teacher and Assistant Music Director and competed nationally with the chorus and 2 quartets including an appearance on the Adams Hills show. Her 2nd quartet represented Adelaide on the National TV show All Together Now and won first prize in two Eisteddfods. Denise sang lead and harmonies in a party band for corporate and charity gigs for 8 years. For the past 3 years she sang soprano in the Kate Bush Tribute shows and added acting to her singing career in the 2023 Fringe Play A Night to Baguette playing the very funny diva character Tea M'Enerve.

://www.matildas.com.au Hello, I’m David Cronin, the writer and co-producer of ‘Julia – Misogyny the Musical.'
And you are invited to be a part of this social arts project.
We need your leadership to contribute whatever you can
to make this happen. Would you consider being a lead donor?
In each of us we have both feminine and masculine,
[Carl Jung talked about the 'inner-marriage'] and every one of us can develop these innate abilities to the full. These include the so-called ‘soft skills:’ empathy and communication, and yes, compassion, vulnerability, kindness and tenderness as well.
All these are now recognised as vital leadership skills
for any gendered person. We watch the ‘Matildas,’ our women’s football team and see how their excellent skills of communication and sharing the work load around leads to a positive environment and productive results. I believe the win-wins will come from the sum of small, everyday interactions of both men and women.

Our project is a musical cabaret ‘Julia – Misogyny the Musical.’ It is a celebration of Julia Gillard’s contribution to our country and to the world as a politician and as a person. It is also about the sexist and misogynistic treatment she experienced.

You are invited to be a vital part of this project. We need your leadership to contribute whatever you can to make it happen. Would you consider being a lead donor?
Patriarchy is first and foremost about bias and perception. When we see a majority of men in authority roles, we perceive this as the norm. Let’s be clear: the win-win will come from the accumulation of small, everyday interactions of both men and women.
David Cronin, the writer and co-producer of Julia - Misogyny the Musical invites you to partner in supporting this project. Over the coming weeks he will introduce you to the team of professional artists involved, and highlight positive examples of action to address these issues.

‘Julia – Misogyny the Musical' is a celebration of Julia Gillard’s contribution to our country and to the world. It is also about the sexist and misogynist treatment she experienced, and the growing awareness of gender inequality.
